Colorescience FAQs

Common questions about Colorescience products and routines.

Which Colorescience Face Shield should I choose?
Choose by finish and skin concern. Face Shield Flex gives tone-adapting tinted coverage, Classic offers a subtle neutral tint, Glow gives a luminous finish, and All Calm is better when visible redness is the concern. If you are oily, look for matte or lighter textures. If you need eye care, choose the dedicated eye product.
Is Colorescience makeup or sunscreen?
It is both, depending on the product. Colorescience Total Protection products use all-mineral SPF actives and EnviroScreen Technology, while many also provide tint, coverage or glow. Treat SPF products as sunscreen first: apply enough, reapply when outdoors, and do not rely on a tiny makeup amount for full protection.
Why do tinted mineral sunscreens help with pigmentation?
Tinted mineral sunscreens often include iron oxide pigments, which help provide visible-light coverage as well as evening the look of skin tone. This is useful for pigmentation-prone skin because visible light can contribute to the appearance of dark marks in some skin types. Choose a shade you will apply generously and reapply.
