About Smoothing & Texture

Smoothing and texture products target roughness, bumps, clogged-feeling skin and uneven surface. The aim is a more refined feel without damaging the barrier. Texture routines often use exfoliating acids or retinoids, so they need moisturiser and SPF to stay comfortable and effective.

Brand science

Key Technology

Look for salicylic acid for clogged pores, glycolic or lactic acid for surface roughness, retinol for longer-term texture support, and ceramides or niacinamide for barrier comfort. Strong exfoliation is not always better. Smooth skin needs a healthy barrier as much as active renewal.

How to Choose

Choose salicylic acid if pores feel congested, glycolic or lactic acid if the surface feels rough, and retinol if texture comes with marks or ageing concerns. Start slowly and avoid combining several smoothing products in one routine. Use SPF every morning.

Smoothing & Texture FAQs

Common questions about Smoothing & Texture products and routines.

Should I choose salicylic acid, glycolic acid or retinol for texture?
Choose by texture type. Salicylic acid is better when texture feels like clogged pores, blackheads or bumps. Glycolic acid is better for surface roughness and dullness. Retinol is useful when texture overlaps with ageing or post-blemish marks. Start with one active and add moisturiser and SPF.
Why does my skin look smoother at first but then irritated?
That usually means exfoliation has overtaken barrier recovery. Acids and retinol can smooth the surface, but overuse leads to tightness, stinging, flaking or a shiny uncomfortable look. Reduce frequency, stop scrubs, moisturise properly and avoid introducing another active until the skin feels normal.
Can texture products be used on the body?
Some can, but use products intended for body areas when possible. CeraVe SA body products, Biretix Tri-Active Spray and certain glycolic body formulas are designed for larger or rougher areas. Facial actives may be too small, too expensive or not suitable for body breakouts. Follow the product’s area directions.
